LEADA WOOD, ARTIST STATEMENT: I have always been creative, every since I was old enough to hold a crayon I have made art. I am a Native Texan and living in a small town hours away from the city has taught me to be creative, both in play and in life. Growing up in the Wild West has certainly been inspirational to my work .After my children were grown, I continued my art education with college courses and workshops from many well known artists, reading everything I could on technique and history. I tried watercolor in 1998 and was entranced with the way the colors mingled on the paper and I was hooked. I was intrigued by the challenge of watercolor, never knowing in what direction my creations would take me. I enjoy expressing myself through colorful, playful paintings, entertaining the viewer with my unique way of looking at the world.
